The care inside the box, carried all the way to the gift.
For KASANE, the gift begins before the first chocolate. Layered paper, a dark presentation box and a vermilion cord bring a Japanese-inspired sensibility to a Lyon chocolatier, with every component coordinated as one set.
A chocolate counter built around giving.
After a decade in pastry kitchens, Emi opened KASANE in Lyon in 2021. Her small assortments paired dark chocolate with toasted sesame, citrus and seasonal fruit. Customers came for a box to take to dinner, a thank-you for a colleague or something worth choosing in person.
As gift orders grew, so did the time spent matching boxes, wrapping paper and carriers at the counter. KASANE wanted to keep the deliberate opening ritual while bringing its packaging into one repeatable family. Its distributor brought ELMCI the assortment sizes, artwork and finish references, with one clear priority: the complete gift had to feel considered, inside and out.

Each chocolate has its own height and shape. The internal arrangement gives it room, then the box and wrap follow. The presentation begins with the product rather than an arbitrary box size.

Ivory paper and dark print look simple because the differences are small. Wrap, box and carrier need to be compared together, under the same light, before the set is agreed.

The gift should move comfortably from the counter into its carrier. Fit, handle attachment and the position of the finished wrap matter to both the person packing and the person carrying it.

From the brief to the delivery.
ELMCI coordinated the box and carrier requirements through the distributor’s brief. We compared supplier proposals as a complete gift set, worked through sample differences and kept the approved components connected through production and shipment.

Define the complete set
We consolidated the assortment dimensions, internal fit, box construction, wrap and carrier requirements. Supplier comparisons identified what was included in each proposal, so the distributor could see the cost and construction of the whole set.

Bring the separate samples together
Paper tones that looked close in individual photographs read differently when the components sat together. We coordinated complete sample sets and supplier revisions, including the carrier fit around the wrapped box, before the final reference was agreed.

Coordinate the order as a family
Boxes, internal trays, wraps and carriers moved through different production stages. We kept component quantities and readiness aligned, coordinated pre-shipment checks against the approved set and arranged shipping with the complete gift family accounted for.
One gift, resolved as a whole.
KASANE’s counter team has a coordinated set to work with, and its distributor has a clear reference for reordering it. The layers still feel personal to the recipient; the components and production requirements are organised behind the scenes.
