Same bag, next order. What needs confirming?

A practical guide to reordering printed paper bags, from the approved artwork to the next delivery.

A repeat order starts with an agreed specification. When a supplier quotes for the next run, the useful questions are what it must reproduce, what has changed and how the sample will be checked. Keep those decisions together so everyone is discussing the same bag.

Start with the approved reference

Use the latest drawing, artwork and specification, with the revision or approval date visible. If an approved physical sample exists, identify it and agree how the supplier will receive or inspect it.

Record the dimensions and units, paper specification, finish, gusset and base construction, handles and attachment details already agreed. Mark anything uncertain for confirmation. An existing technical pack can be supplied as it is; there is no need to retype information that the original files communicate clearly.

Make changes explicit

A new logo, handle or quantity can make this order different from the last one. Give each requested change its own line and identify the reference it replaces. Include changes to print placement, colours, dimensions, finishes and packing requirements.

Ask the supplier which changes need a new proof or sample. Agree any acceptance checks before production, including how the handles and construction should perform for the intended contents.

Keep the preview and sample connected

A digital preview can help discuss logo position, proportions and colour direction. A physical sample is where the agreed material, construction, fit and finish can be checked. Keep both tied to the same artwork and specification revision.

Record what the sample is approved for, who approves it and any points still open. If the artwork changes afterwards, identify whether that affects an earlier approval.

Confirm the details for this run

Give the supplier the quantity, delivery destination and required timing. Confirm production and shipping arrangements for this order, rather than treating the previous schedule as a new commitment.

ELMCI helps compare supplier options and coordinate samples, production follow-up, pre-shipment checks and logistics. Start with your existing specification and identify the decisions that still need to be made.
